Drop Offs & Pick-Ups:

Campers should arrive no earlier than 8:45 but by 9:00 AM each day at the picnic table area in front of the barn. Pick-up is promptly at 3 PM from the picnic table area in front of the barn. Please be aware that there is a charge for early drop-offs and late pick-ups (see below).

What To Wear:

Wear long pants and boots with a heel (no shorts or capri pants). If you do not have riding boots, hiking boots are a great option (please no sneakers or tennis shoes). Wear a shirt that covers the tummy and can get dirty (we prefer no strappy tank tops). Hair should be tied back. Headbands are a great idea for children with shorter hair, to keep hair out of their face while working, riding, and playing!

What To Bring:

  • Please bring the remainder of the camp fee, if it has not already been paid in full. Campers will not be accepted for the first day of camp without full payment for the session.
  • Please pack snacks, lunch, drinks, and bring a refillable water bottle. We provide water and a refrigerator for food and drinks.
  • In addition to your riding clothing (which campers should show up wearing), please bring the following:
    • Sunscreen
    • Bathing suit and towel
    • A pair of flip-flops for water fun
    • Change of clothing (shorts, capris, and tank tops are okay but campers must remain in shoes with a closed toe (boots or sneakers) while in the barn or horse area).

What To Expect:

Drop off between 8:45-9:00 AM at the picnic table area in front of the barn.

Morning:

After arrival at camp each morning, campers will meet with their camp counselors to go over the day’s activities and anything important to know for the day.
Campers will spend part of the morning helping their counselor complete some basic horse care chores, to experience what it’s like to own their own horse!
Following barn time, campers will take a quick break for a snack and practice their horse terminology (horse breeds, colors, parts of the horse, and saddle).
Campers will groom and tack up their assigned horse (with the counselor’s help if needed) to prepare for their riding lesson. Some days campers will all ride together in a group activity or game, other days campers will be divided by skill level and receive a more structured lesson.

– Break for lunch –

Afternoon:
After lunch, campers will do a horsey craft, game, or spend more hands-on horse time! When weather permits, campers can cool off with water games.

Pick-up is promptly at 3 PM from the picnic table area in front of the barn.

Early Drop-Offs/Late Pick-Ups Charge:

While we absolutely love our campers, our time is valuable and we have other programs and horses to tend to before and after camp each day. There is a charge for early drop-offs and late pick-ups: Prearranged early drop-off or late pick-up is available at the rate of $15 per 30 minutes when prior arranges are made and prepaid. Early drop off and late pick up without prior arrangements will be billed at $15 for the first 5-15 minutes, and $15 per 15 minutes early/late after that.
